From Faith to Knowledge: Sobiya\'s Journey

I am Sobiya Katun, a twelve-year-old girl living in Haripurwa Municipality-2, Sarlahi, with my father, mother, and two elder brothers. Growing up in a Muslim family, I rarely ventured outside our home, attending only the Madarsa for my studies. However, everything changed when the Child Protection-Community Engagement and Sponsorship Plan (CP-CESP) project was implemented in my community, and I was registered in the sponsorship program.

Initially, my parents were reluctant to send me to school. But after participating in various activities organized by the child sponsorship project, they began to see the value of education and eventually decided to enroll me in school. Now, I attend both school and Madarsa regularly, currently studying in grade three, and I actively participate in all programs.

My parents have also become supportive, engaging in the programs alongside me. Inspired by my commitment, my neighbors and other children in the community have started attending school as well.

Through my participation in menstruation hygiene management and anti-child marriage orientation programs, I have learned valuable lessons that I eagerly share with my peers and community members.

I aspire to become a nurse in the future, dedicated to improving my community. My family and community are filled with pride as they witness the positive changes in my life.
