PROMOTION OF INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE
Our ‘The Promotion of Inclusive Governance thematic area’ focuses to empower marginalized communities and ensure their active participation in democratic processes. By addressing systemic discrimination and promoting equitable access to resources, we advocates for justice, inclusion, and sustainable development through collaboration with all three-layer of governments and stakeholders.
Key Highlights:
● Democratic Participation and Civic Awareness: The projects like ‘The Civic and Voter Education Program; contributed to democratic participation and civic awareness by raising awareness about electoral processes, constitutional rights, and citizenship acquisition, empowering marginalized groups such as Dalits, women, and Muslims to actively participate in governance.
● Empowering Marginalized Groups: The projects like the Strengthening Oppressed Communities and Promoting Justice Program and Comprehensive Package for Mobile Population and Their Families (CPMPFP) address systemic inequities and advocate for the rights of historically excluded groups, including Dalits and migrant workers.
● Migration Governance and Legal Aid: Our projects like The Safer Migration (SaMi) helps protect the rights of migrant workers by providing pre-departure training, legal aid, and psychosocial support, while also connecting remittance-receiving households to financial literacy programs.
● Urban Governance and Development: We also cover the urban development governance under our governance theme. Our Urban Futurescape/Hamro Sahar Project strengthens local government capacity for integrated urban planning, emphasizing participatory governance, resilient infrastructure, and equitable service delivery.
● Advancing Justice and Inclusion: The Comprehensive HIV and AIDS Program and Raising the Status of Disabled People through Empowerment and Rehabilitation are the examples to promote the inclusion of marginalized groups by addressing systemic challenges, offering legal aid, and creating advocacy platforms for vulnerable populations.
